I wouldn’t try the perfume, though I suppose the worst that could happen is your hair smells great. Do you have a card you can use to order some online (from a reputable site, of course)?

I’ve heard of of desperate people using eggwhites, but I can’t recommend that with a good conscious. It shouldn’t hurt your hair, but i have to imagine it would smell, especially in Summer heat.

Depending on what you’re going for, a tiny bit of Vaseline is safe to use but will work more like a gel. You need a good shampoo to remove it (dishwashing liquid should work if you used too much).

Here is a link from eHow on how to make your own green hairspray. I haven’t tried it, but it may be worth a shot?
